Sidewalk Challenges (CD) In Asia, booths of Chinese chess can be found readily along sidewalks, where passengers are constantly challenged with fascinating endgame problems. This game simulates such a sidewalk adventure. One can either travel across town by maneuvering an animated character or select a chess booth directly from the menu. Approximately 4,000 endgame problems at three levels of difficulty are offered. Additional features include setting up your own endgame positions to be solved or listening to lectures on checkmate skills. (Windows 95 or higher, Pentium-100 CPU, 16 MB RAM, 4X CD, 256 Color, Mouse, Sound Card, and Speaker. ) English manual available only from Yutopian. The program has Chinese interface, but it functions well with Microsoft Windows 95 and up, showing nice Chinese chraracters of the game pieces on the board.
